Attending blogger event #3 (I think): Starbucks’ Lunch Sandwich preview

Gee, I guess I really owe my friend Mich a big one. Maybe on Christmas. Or her birthday. Hehe!

Thanks to her, I got to attend another Starbucks Philippines event last Monday, this time giving us bloggers a sneak peak (and first dibs!) on their soon-to-be-launched Lunch Sandwiches and Frappuccino beverages.

And because the invite told us to “come hungry,” I did. Boy, I did not expect to feel full halfway through the food sampling.

I only got to finish one sandwich, the Ultimate Grilled Cheese, which is instantly my favorite:

My second favorite is the Tuna Melt. The only drawback is that I won’t be able to eat it once it’s launched. Unless I go to Baguio, Naga, Boracay, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, or CDO. Dang.

Oh, Tuna Melt, you are so out of my reach...

But well, there’s still lots of other yummy variants like the Tuna Waldorf on Raisin Walnut Bread.

Before they had us taste these delicious bread stuff, we had an activity which sort-of initiated us with the aroma and flavors of coffee.

The short activity basically introduced us to the Tanzania coffee and how its flavors burst in your mouth when you drink it, whether alone or with certain foods.

Next up, we were introduced to the newest additions to Starbucks’ Frappuccino blended beverages:

My vote goes to the Mint Java Chip, all because I like mint. Now I don’t have to wait for Christmas for a mint drink. Wee!

Afterwards came the main event: it was time to eat. 🙂

We were given a slice of each of the new lunch sandwiches: Ultimate Grilled Cheese, Roasted Chicken Pesto and Shiitake Mushroom on Flat Bread, Roasted Vegetables on Flat Bread, The Clubhouse, Tuna Waldorf on Raisin Walnut Bread, The Beef Brisket, and Tuna Melt on Rye Bread.

They couldn't even fit in one plate, what more in my stomach...

And to cap the meal was a sampling of a limited-time only dessert: the very decadent Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownie Cheesecake.

Three words: to die for!

Such a tummy-filling experience. And we get to take home, aside from a bit of food, more gifts from Starbucks:

But wait! I still got news: they’re having a promo on August 15 and 16 wherein you can get a Php50 discount on the new lunch sandwiches when you order one plus a handcrafted Starbucks beverage. So if I were you, I’ll be rushing to the nearest Starbucks store by then.

Geez, I’m really hungry now. Can’t wait until August 9, when all these will be made available in Starbucks stores in the Philippines.
