Starbucks Refreshers + new food items

Once again, I”ve been one of those lucky to get a glimpse (and a taste) of Starbucks Philippines’ soon-to-be-released food and drinks.

Threats of UTI and that crap-I-forgot-my-camera feeling aside, I made my way to Starbucks 6750 (yay, no commute!) to join other bloggers for this latest event.

While waiting, I ordered a hot chai tea latte with caramel drizzle on top. Suddenly got addicted to chai, thanks to Ria, my officemate.

Anyways, so after everyone was settled, we were introduced to Starbucks’ innovative Refreshers. It’s a drink made with green (unroasted) coffee extract but without the coffee taste. The base is something like fruit juice that’s infused with the extract of green coffee beans. Some water, fruit (dehydrated blackberries for Very Berry and slice of lime for Cool Lime), and ice is all it takes to make these wonderful and refreshing drinks.

They come in 2 flavors, Very Berry Hibiscus and Cool Lime.

If you were wondering why I (and the rest of the attendees) am (were) wearing caps and aprons, that’s because we were asked to make our own Refreshers Beverage.

After that, we were treated to their new food items. Come July 31, say hello to the new Starbucks Lunch Sandwiches and Featured Food Items:

Middle row: Roasted Chicken Pesto and Shiitake Mushroom on Flat Bread (the only one they will be retaining from the present roster of Lunch Sandwiches), Seafood Po’Boy Wrap, and Zesty Chicken with Bacon Caesar Dressing on Focaccia Bread. Again, most of the items in their present menu will be replaced with these (goodbye, Ultimate Grilled Cheese *sniff*) by July 31, so grab your favorites while you can. Good news is that these new food items are super-delicious as well, and you’re sure to find a new favorite from among these.
