Well, at the onset, initial results have shown Noynoy’s enormous lead over everyone. Binay, on the other hand, had to go neck-to-neck with Mr. Palengke.
Now that the canvassing is over, I can now say that the Cory Magic was sustained by the brains behind their respective campaigns.
So, ang talagang panalo ay si Cory. Whaddayaknow?
I did not vote for these two. I almost voted for Binay, though. And even though my bets Richard Gordon and Bayani Fernando lost in the race, I choose not to bad-mouth them. Besides, they haven’t done anything yet.
For now, all we could do is support our new leaders. That is the best thing every Filipino, pro or against them, could do.
As long as they do good, I will support them. Try, at the very least.
For the past decades, we always relied on our leaders to put the country on the map. On the positive side of the map, of course.
But then I realized, it’s not just the duty of our leader. It is a responsibility shared by each of us.
By definition, a leader is someone who is in charge or in command of others. And without the others, the followers, he is not a leader. He is just a lonely man.
The followers are important to the leader just as the leader is important to his followers.
So I say, let’s do our share in lifting our country from the muck we’re in.
