Having 2 kids in the household means being careful with the product choices I make as a mom. A brief background: my family has a history of asthma, therefore powder, lotion, and cologne are used to a minimum. Furthermore, my youngest daughter is G6PD Deficient, so I’m always checking product labels for ingredients that may trigger hemolysis like soy or menthol.
As a result, I’ve always made it a point to lean towards purchasing products with all-natural ingredients. That’s why Belo Baby is a welcome discovery for me. Crafted with care for the most delicate skin, for the most meticulous moms, Belo Baby guarantees that all their products are made using 100% certified all-natural ingredients and 0% harmful chemicals.
Belo Baby products contain these all-natural ingredients:
Cocoa Butter – has antioxidant qualities that protect and keep skin healthy and moisturized. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can relieve rashes and other common skin irritations.
Shea Butter – a “superfood” that heals, protects, nourishes, and moisturizes the skin and hair. Suitable for all skin types, it naturally heals diaper rash and eczema.
Sweet Almond Oil – helps develop healthy skin by exfoliating dead skin cells and locking in moisture on skin.
I was fortunate to try out their complete product line. I baby-tested these items during the weekend (and yeah, I used them myself, too).
We first tried the Baby Belo Hair and Body Wash (PHP 219.75/200ml). First off, I love the bottle; it made it easy to dispense the creamy wash even with just one hand. A nice touch on the spout: just turn it a quarter clockwise to lock it and prevent accidental pumps and spills. The wash had a creamy texture and a mild scent that’s like baby powder.
I initially used it on my 6-year-old daughter but I think this product is perfect for babies and toddlers. When applied to the body, the wash didn’t lather much but it was expected since the product is absolutely SLS-free. It was easy to rinse, too, and my daughter’s skin felt smooth just after the first wash.
I then tried in on my 1-year-old, and here’s where I think it really became effective. Because after a whole day of running around in this summer heat, her hair still smelled so clean and wonderful (take note, she sweats A LOT). Also happy to say that both my girls haven’t experienced any irritation using it.
I tried the Belo Baby Bar Soap (PHP 79.75/100g) next. Compared to the Hair and Body Wash, the soap had no fragrance at all (for me, at least). I like the shape; it makes it easy to hold. It produced more lather/suds than the wash, and while applying it I can already feel the silky smooth effect on my eldest’s skin. Easy to rinse as well.
I applied the Belo Baby Face and Body Lotion (PHP 224.75/150ml) on my own skin. My hands can get really dry and I need to put on lotion a lot of times throughout the day. What I immediately liked about the lotion is that the texture was light, which allowed my skin to absorb it fast. It’s not greasy, too, perfect to use even in this hot weather. And it has a light powder scent similar to that of the Hair and Body Wash. An instant fave!
The Belo Baby Cologne (PHP 79.75/100ml) is the last I tried. For the record, I’m not much into fragrances, as they easily trigger my allergies. But my eldest loves trying on colognes so I made her smell all three variants.
I asked her which among them she liked, and she said it was the Sweet Snuggle (pink). Taking a whiff of each, I preferred that one, too, but I also liked Cool Drizzle (I think this one is great for baby boys). Happy Tickle evoked a warm, fuzzy feeling on me.
I’m happy to have found Belo Baby. And it’s also great to see an all-natural product line readily sold in the market. You may be wary about the price a bit — they are a bit more pricey than the regular baby products — but what you get is a guarantee that you’re using something that’s truly gentle and safe for your baby’s delicate skin, and effective in keeping it soft and supple.
