Cno at tqaxan kya ynq nqtxt nt0h!
I just had to blog about this photo Plurked by a college friend. The blogger showed this text sent to her in Filipino text-speak.
I text-speak, but not like that. Goodness, I had to re-read the text message a couple of times just to understand what the heck he/she is talking about.
How hard is it to text in Filipino or English, or even Tag-lish? “Name” takes fewer finger presses than “neym.” Also “po” compared to “fo.” A “q” for “g?” And “x” for “s?” And yeah, wrong punctuation mark, too, dear.
If I want to compress lots of words in one text (para tipid), I sometimes eliminate the vowels. But I don’t go to the extent of giving the recipient quite a hard time reading my message.
This person’s Filipino teacher must be cringing in his/her seat. Wala pong natutunan ang estudyanteng ito mula sa inyo. Awww…
Well, if you want to learn how to text that way, here’s the Jologs Translator, for your enjoyment. As for me, no thanks. Don’t want a headache right now…

one of my younger cousins also has a crazy texting attitude! i once texted her saying, “pwede ba? isahan lang ang pagsend ng text? 2 or 3 times mo na sinesend tapos the same text lang naman.. kakaasar basahin!” (taray ko noh?)
i also have a friend who is fond of forwarding LOADS of quotes, jokes, etc.
i sometimes woke up in my sleep to hear my cellphone’s vibration and text tone just to read some silly joke.. i texted her back saying “please wag ka ng magtext kung puro jokes at quotes lang naman.. mas maige nalang mangumusta ka or something kasi 2AM eh.. may pasok pa’ko ng 5AM.. (i woke up thinking na important ang text kasi in the middle of the night e) i need more sleep kaso istorbo yun sunod-sunod na forwarded messages mo! (noon yon na may work pa’ko).. medyo natagalan den bago sya nagtext saken.. nagtampo kasi sya..
i don’t know about you, but i don’t like getting stupid texts esp. yung mga chain texts na yan! that’s why me, myself, i don’t send stupid texts to people.. i only send text if there’s something important to say.. or if i feel like texting somebody i miss..

if i receive forwarded stuff, lalo na yung parang chain texts, i just ignore it and erase it. kung may milagro, may milagro, di na kelangang mag-forward sa lahat para lang magkatotoo…

haha. texting is really affecting spelling of Filipino’s. even the easiest of terms sometimes needed to be thought of on how to spell because of this text-vocabulary craze. people tend to forget how to spell the right way already with these confusing shortcuts.

I took me quite a while to really understand what the title was saying.
9 years agoNosebleed, heartache and migraine din ako whenever I get extreme text-talk SMS. I just don’t get it why some people have to change the letters of the words but if you count the letters, its the same or sometimes even longer.
Geeez~

I’m one of those few people who don’t text-speak. As much as possible, I send my text message in correct spelling. I think it’s one of my OC traits.

uy, galit. :p

haha! it’s a normal reaction. ganyan din mag-text ang kapatid ko. at 23 years old na siya.
