For 2018, I’ve opted for the Design Your Life Planner, particularly the Back to Basics planner, to accompany me on my personal and career journey. Yes, instead of using one of the planners I got without cost (from a previous event), I bought me one.
So why choose this planner?
To be honest, I wanted a planner that met my needs. The ones I’ve used the previous years were, well, underutilized. Very much underutilized. Late last year, I realized that the planners I had didn’t meet my needs. So I researched online and looked for prospects.
The Design Your Life Planner wasn’t on the top of my list. Looking at it online, I didn’t think it had what I was searching for. When I went to Fully Booked before 2017 ended, I had 2 other planners in mind. That day, the first choice wasn’t available. I held on to my second choice when I discovered a sample of the DYL planners. Of the 3 options (Rainbow, Back to Basics, and Limitless), the Back to Basics seemed to be the most attractive for me.
It was a eureka moment for me, really. For some reason, I put my second choice back in the display and headed to the counter with the Back to Basics planner.
Going home and opening my Design Your Life Planner, I fell in love with it.
It has monthly and daily views, with enough space to write notes and reminders.

Comes with nifty stickers, too. I already used some to mark significant dates.

Each week has inspirational quotes. And the daily tabs contain drawings of glasses, a reminder to keep myself hydrated at all times.
A big reason for me choosing the Design Your Life Planner was that it had a monthly Expense Tracker. That would surely be helpful in budgeting, especially for someone like me who needs to keep tabs on where the money goes. #nanaymode

Details on the Expense Trackers go to the Cash Flow Page where I can track how much money comes and goes in a year.
For those targeting career or life projects, there’s a Project Keeper to keep tabs on progress.
Another useful feature for me: the Sleep Tracker. I doubt that I’ll get the recommended 8-hour sleep in a day, though.
There’s also the Travel Checklist for research and prep, 3 pages of Travel Planners for your details and itinerary, and some extra dotted pages for doodles.

And even though it doesn’t come with coupons, I’d say the Design Your Life Planner is so worth my Php 630.
You can say that I’m going back to basics with this planner. And I think that’s a good thing. Because maybe that’s what I need in my life to get me through 2018, going back to basics.
I don’t know if I can properly utilize this. But now, as I look at my open planner, I’m getting a good feeling about this.
