Background: My brother and his wife, both OFWs in Dubai, wanted to gift their families with a staycation. The surprise was that, unknown to all (except for a select few), they were going to be there. Everyone was expecting them to come back to the PH in April this year.
They planned this in secret since December last year. The only ones who knew about it was me and his wife’s sibs. We had to keep this a secret and feign ignorance about everything.
Well, the plan worked (my parents were less emotional than the wife’s, LOL, but I expected that).
Anyhoo, so we stayed at the Two Bedroom Suite of The Linden Suites for a night. They booked us a Room-Only package (without breakfast).
The room was pretty spacious. My mom commented that that foyer took a lot of space, though. Anyways, the suite had a 6-seater dining table, a living room with cable TV and work desk, and two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and another with 2 single beds. Both rooms had a bath with shower, with the one in the queen bed room having a bathtub. The kitchen had an induction stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, and electric kettle.
Included in the stay were 2 complimentary bottled water, coffee (2 sachets of instant coffee and a sachet of brewed coffee), tea, and sugar. There’s also Wi-Fi access good for 4 gadgets.
We got to use their swimming pool during our stay. The kids enjoyed that. We didn’t get to try their restaurant, though.
To be honest, even if I’m from Pasig, this is the first time I’ve stayed at The Linden Suites. My verdict: I guess it’s past its prime, as evident in some furnishings. But the overall experience was good. Provisions were good. I appreciate that the kitchen had utensils and cookware, as well as a sponge and dishwashing liquid.
And because they have a kitchen, you can actually bring in food. There’s a limit to alcoholic beverages, though.
Service was also good. Housekeeping was prompt in fulfilling our requests for extra slippers (3 are free, any in excess will require a charge) and laundry bag. And the staff was courteous, too. The elevator in Tower 2 (where we stayed) was a bit too small. Hard to take the elevator when you’re a large group. 😛
Price-wise: since it’s a 4-star hotel, the rates are in the mid- to high-range category, depending on the room you’ll book. But they have promo rates on their website, so you might want to look into that if you’re working on a budget.
Tips: pets are not allowed. Their restaurant requires a dress code (no slippers, no swimwear, etc.). There’s complimentary parking, but only for one car per reserved room. Anyways, these will be listed in the fine print of your booking confirmation email, so make sure to check that one out.
For a staycation, I’d recommend The Linden Suites. I’d probably be back, but only if an occasion calls for it, hehe!
