When I received Starbucks Philippines’ invite for their latest blogger event, I knew I shouldn’t miss it. I skipped the last one (done during that hectic week before my flight to Bohol), so I made it a point to attend this one. Even if it was done outside the usual venue (the Drive-Thru store at The Fort).
This particular event was held in one of their newest branches, in One Rockwell (not the one in Powerplant Mall).
Quite a cozy venue, I must say. The mezzanine floor’s ceiling was quite low, though. But of course that did not pose as a problem for me, hehe!
Anyways, the purpose of the event is to introduce, not only Starbucks’ new store, but also its new food and beverage offerings.
First up is the Starbucks Three Region Blend coffee.
It’s basically a combination of beans grown from Latin America, Africa/ Arabia, and Asia Pacific, pre-roasted to give a feel that’s light in the tongue but with a bit of a kick. It’s a medium blend, so if you’re not so much for the dark/ roasted coffee taste, this one’s a nice choice.
We were also introduced to 2 new drinks: the Hojicha Earl Grey Tea Jelly Frappuccino and Red Bean Green Tea Frappuccino.
I like the Hojicha more than the Red Bean Green Tea, probably because of the jelly. Or maybe I’m just not too keen on the red beans.
Then came the foodstuff. For the savory, we had Bacon and Cheese on Italian Country Bread, Beef and Mushroom Pie, and Chicken Parmigiana Wrap.
For sweet endings, they have the Green Tea and Berry Cheesecake and the Purple Yam Cake with Macapuno and Red Bean.
Personal choices are the Bacon and Cheese and the cheesecake. But all are really yummy. 🙂
All these items are available in a Starbucks branch near you come June 12. They also have a limited run, 6 weeks we were told, so it’s best to grab them once they arrive.
Also, Starbucks has a special one-day-only promo in their One Rockwell branch. Buy any handcrafted beverage at Starbucks One Rockwell on Friday, June 8, from 4 to 8 PM and get a Free Double Upsize on your drink! Imagine, a Venti for the price of a Tall drink. Nice, isn’t it? If you’re in the area, do take advantage of this.
P.S. I might do a blog contest sometime soon. If ever, it’d be my first to do so. Would you be interested to join? 🙂
