Holy Shawarma Marikina: Yummy MidEastern Fare and More

Posted on - in Food

For the record, I rarely get invited to blogger events. Or maybe I decline because I have a day job and I need to prioritize that before attending blogger events. But when I do and the schedule permits, I try to go.

Good thing hubby is supportive of my blogging, haha! Because when I got an invite for a food meet-up with Eastside food bloggers (those who live in the areas of Pasig, Marikina, and Rizal), he gave me the go-signal to attend.

Short notice, too, from Ghelle of Jellybeans in the City (who is a schoolmate of mine from HS), so it was a surprise for me that hubby agreed that I go. Yay!

Anyhoo, for my very first (!) foodie meet-up, we visited Holy Shawarma along Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue in Marikina City. It’s a fairly new place just right before you get to Blue Wave.

This small, intimate resto serves, well, shawarma and kebab plus other food items like Dynamite and French Fries. Interesting. Delicious, too.

My recommendation is the Chicken Kebab. It’s perfect with rice (even if I’m not really a rice person). If they have extra pita or flat bread, I’d go with that, though.

Price-wise, I can say that eating here is worth your money. While they don’t have a lot on their menu, I like the fact that the resto really focused on their food offerings, not confusing customers with loads of choices. Pretty straightforward and simple menu.

Just a heads-up: the place isn’t that big so if you’re coming with friends, be there early to get seats (or probably just get a take-out).

But all in all, I liked my foodie experience at Holy Shawarma. If you’re living somewhere in Marikina, Holy Shawarma makes for a good snack stop.

Check out Holy Shawarma on Facebook and Instagram.

Also, special thanks to the Marikina Foodies group and Ghelle for the invite. 🙂
