Plays.Org: My Fun Way to De-stress
As a mom and career woman, I wear many hats. I run the household, take care of the family, earn my keep. When before I was able to balance work and life, I found it harder now, especially in the midst of the pandemic. The line between work and home has blurred for me, and it’s gotten to the point where I’m always anxious and stressed.
My sister has always advised me to relax while working from home. She said I’m doing too much stuff that I forget to take a pause.
My husband told me that, too. He even told me to get a hobby. He told me to do what he does: play video games to take my mind off stress. Because that’s how he does it.
But I dunno, console games aren’t for me. Well, at least the type of games he plays.
I’m more of a casual gamer. I like games that are pretty easy to play. No complicated instructions, just fun.
That’s why it’s a good thing I stumbled upon Plays.Org. It’s a website that lets users play online games for free. They have a slew of games tailored to anyone’s liking, be it a shooting, puzzle, or arcade game. Plus point is that some of their games are based on old ones, so if you’re my age who’s held an Atari, well, you’re in for a bit of fun and nostalgia.
Case in point: Brick Out. Of course, it was one of the first games I played on the site because it was super nostalgic for me. And easy, too: you just have to clear all the bricks in each level, being careful not to let the ball drop down below. As a kid, it was one of my favorite games because of its simplicity and straightforwardness.
Another game in Plays.Org that I liked was Neon Invaders. It reminded me of Space Invaders and Galaga (which was one of the FamiCom games I finished when I was younger). It’s a basic shooting game. But I liked the graphics here. Or maybe because I got attracted to the neon colors of the aliens. Hehe!
For those who love brain games and puzzles, check out Blocky. The rules are simple: just fill the spaces with the given puzzle pieces. This would be something I would play on occasion if I want to exercise my logic skills. I’ve only reached until Level 20; will surely continue to play this one.
Plays.org offers other game genres: educational, logic, shooting, simulation, and strategy games. There are over a hundred free online games on the site. For sure, there will be one that suits your preference.
As for me, I go to the site whenever I feel like I need to let off some steam or just take a break. I realized that hubby was right. Playing games, especially the ones I mentioned above, helps calm my nerves and gives me a dose of happiness.
So yeah, if you’re like me who’s been a bit more stressed than usual and want something to cheer you up, Plays.Org is one of those good places online to go to.
