Red Ribbon Mother’s Day Treat: Cake Creations Buffet Bar
A pretty late post. Also something I failed to document because it’s been weeks since my phone bogged down.
Anyway, enough excuses. I got invited to the Red Ribbon Red Letter Day Event for Mother’s Day at their flagship store in SM Megamall over the weekend. It was a Cake Creations Buffet Bar, which means my companion and I can cake-all-we-want for one hour.
It had me at cake. LOL!
Weekends also meant that I get to take care of the kids. So I brought these little sweet-tooths with me. (I asked if it was possible for a “plus two” and they said yes. Hubby went somewhere else, but just nearby.)

It was a pretty intimate media event. There were just about 5 bloggers with their plusses, whether they were their children or their moms.
Actually, I initially invited my mom. I thought this would be a great Mother’s Day gift. She declined, though. Senior citizens must watch their sugar levels, she said. Mmm, okay.
My kids, on the other hand, were pretty excited.
Anyhoo, there were 6 cakes offered at the Buffet Bar. These were the ever-popular Black Forest, Chocolate Indulgence, Cappuccino Crème, Peach Mango Symphony, and the 2 new variants: Ube Bloom and Caramel Mango Mousse.

Of course, the kids went for Chocolate Indulgence. I, on the other hand, got a slice each of Ube Bloom and Caramel Mango Mousse. Since I’m familiar with the other variants, why not try the new ones?
My opinion: while I’m a sucker for mangoes and caramel, I so love Ube Bloom! It’s not too sweet and not too heavy on the palate. And it has ube halaya in the middle! Super yummy!
I asked my kids if they want to try the other cakes, but they’re really fixated on Chocolate Indulgence, LOL! They even had a second helping. And they followed the “no sharing, no leftover” rule, too.

I got them small slices so I won’t have to worry about them not finishing their cakes. But they did and left nothing but icing swipes on their plates. 🙂
Red Ribbon opened the cake buffet bar to the public by 2 PM of Saturday. There was another last Sunday, exactly on Mother’s Day. Pretty sure moms and kids (and the rest of the family) enjoyed it.
Thanks, Red Ribbon (and Love — nice to see you again!) for inviting me over the the Cake Creations Buffet Bar last weekend!
