Stepping on the pedal: my goals for the next 12 months

Posted on - in Contest, Life, Married Life

I haven’t won from the past Moleskine giveaways. That’s why I’m joining again.

What’s more interesting is the mechanics of the new leg of this contest from It’s so timely because it’s my natal day today — it’s just the right time to write about my goals and aspirations for the next 12 months.

So, looking at where I am right now, these will be what I should work on to achieve:

1. Eat healthy, especially for the next 7 months or so. Yep, being pregnant should be my drive to eat more fruits and veggies. Especially veggies. Baby needs nourishment, so I gotta give it to him/her. Don’t worry, I’m trying…

2. Getting ready for mommy responsibilities. Like learn how to carry the baby, change the diapers, feed milk — all of these mixed with work and wife duties. I’m sure I’ll find the balance…

3. Fix all legal documents. Need to change my surname. That’s what I get for getting married, but I have no regrets. As my friends would say, artistahin ang name ko ngayon.

4. Save up for delivery, a new house and everything that our new family would need. Which would also mean scrimping on luxuries. Or to put it more aptly, distribute the funds properly.

5. Step on the gas on my business idea. This chocolate business has been brewing in my head for years. I even have a name for the business already. The only thing that’s missing is me starting it. My insides tell me I have to do it…

6. Settle in a workplace where I could last, probably retire (when the business idea doesn’t turn out as expected). The longest tenure I’ve had so far was 5 years. To sustain our lifestyle, I would need to find and stay in a company that could nurture my talents, pay me well, and make me stay happy and contented for a long period of time. Hopefully, this is it…

7. Make amends. Failed friendships will remain cracked, even if we try to fix it, I know. But to gain inner peace, it’s a step. Of course, the other party should be willing, too…

8. Read more books. I should be doing this, but I’m too picky. I need this to expand my vocabulary… and get “cultured.” LOL!

Well, these are what’s in my head for now. I’m pretty sure my goals and aspirations list will still expand for the next 12 months, but I think I already have a lot at hand to start with.

And now, the countdown begins in three… two… one…

Thanks, Michelle! Being a mommy is an overtime… I mean, a full-time vocation. I’m amazed how many moms are able to juggle so many different roles at the same time.

Thanks for dropping by, sir. Yep, being a mom is a 24/7 duty, with no holiday break. I’m psyching myself already to become a good mom (this early) and wife and employee (or entrepreneur, hopefully). 😀
