Last week, I had the opportunity to have a taste of Pinkberry Philippines‘ latest flavor: Coconut.
To be honest, I’m not a big fan of coconut-flavored stuff. The only coconut by-product I like is the buko juice. Juice, not shake. So I was kinda challenged about tasting Pinkberry’s newest frozen yogurt flavor during its blogger event.
And I got to taste it even before the event started.

I chose the almonds and chocolate chips to go with it. The staff said I can still add one more topping, and she recommended fresh strawberries. And whaddayaknow, it tasted great!
What’s nice about the Coconut Swirl is that the coconut flavor isn’t overpowering. It’s like eating the Original flavor but with coconut hints at the back and sides of your tongue.

The event attendees and I were (re)introduced to the history of Pinkberry before we went to the first activity, which was to create our own smoothies. We were required to pick our froyo flavor plus 5 toppings to be blended in with some milk. I chose the Original flavor and added fresh banana and mango slices, honey almond granola, graham cracker crumbs, and caramel syrup.

I chose the ingredients based on a fruit-and-milk dessert I’ve been enjoying since I was a kid. I kinda liked this smoothie version, though I was looking for a bit of crunch. But it was good — and filling, too, because of the banana.
Next up, we were to create a Swirly Design: they gave each attendee a medium Coconut Swirl and we were asked to decorate it using the toppings.

It was a disaster on my part — I had no idea what to make of it, plus the froyo was melting as I went on.

But we all had a good time (even if there were only 5 of us). And we get to go home with a tub of our chosen Swirl flavor (I got chocolate, hehe!). Thanks again, Pinkberry, for a great bloggers night. 🙂
