I enjoyed a really long weekend, thanks to the company’s minus 10% workday rule and the end of Ramadan.
While it was generally quiet, there had been a few highlights.
First, the Mayweather-Marquez bout, which I had completely forgotten about until I did some channel surfing last Sunday. It was obviously a win for the returning Floyd Junior. He was too fast and Marquez is just a bit slow and his punches aren’t that strong. What was unexpected for me, though, was his tongue-lashing with Shane Mosley during the post-fight interview. The man with the mic couldn’t do anything to stop the two boxers from throwing nasty words at each other. And it was done live. No class at all.
That’s why even though Pacquiao can beat the crap out of them, I like them Mexican fighters. They don’t try to steal the limelight and just say their piece during unwarranted situations.
Second, the Noynoy-Mar tandem. I expected this one. At least the money Mar spent for his “padyak” campaign is going somewhere. Not at the route he expected, but at least he’s still in the running — now for the second-highest position in the country.
I’m still not sure about voting for them come next year. Guess I’ll just have to wait for those debates and see who gets my vote.
