“Walang counterflow”
The Monday after Noynoy Aquino said this phrase (along with “walang wangwang“), traffic along Ortigas Ave. Extension went from bad to worse.
Counterflows were done during the morning rush hours to address the influx of motorists and commuters coming from Rizal going to the commercial districts of Metro Manila. One part of the East-bound lane accommodated those going to Ortigas and Makati areas. This resulted to easing the traffic situation every weekday morning.
And then, the traffic enforcers heard the “walang counterflow” call. That’s when it all started. Irate drivers, angry commuters… name it.
I’m not sure if the “walang counterflow” statement was to be taken literally.
But I guess this situation tests both the capabilities of the MMDA peeps, and the patience and discipline of the Filipino on the road.
I guess I can say I’m glad I’m not driving. At least I can sleep through it all.

hhaahahah! yeah, i guess we do need to do something about the number of vehicles on the road and our road network, the counterflow scheme is but a temporary/short term solution to a long term problem. Wala na talagang wang-wang, the wang-wang devices are now being removed from all of our office vehicles. 😉

The wang-wang part is something to be thankful for… he could have elaborated on the walang counterflow bit ( I assumed it meant for gov officials again)
11 years agoBtw, sorry to nitpick, but I was watching his presscon and I couldn’t help exclaiming “OMG, he’s just like Kris”. Transparency is good, but methinks the candor is a bit excessive. JMO :p Still rooting for him to do a good job though…

i thought i was the only one who thought noynoy was a male version of kris. LOL! yeah, they’re pretty much outspoken bordering to tactlessness. magkapatid nga. 😛

hahaha…. pero isipin mo rin, sometimes it gets irritating to be asked the same question over and over again and mararamdaman mo if they’re trying to pin you against the wall…. :p
